DARK 22M

Glensound presents new problem-solving tools at PLASA

Stand J4, PLASA, Olympia London, 7–9 September 2025

Latest product launches in response to industry demands

Glensound is set to showcase how its team delivers on real industry needs with launches at PLASA (stand J4, Olympia London, 7–9 September 2025). With almost 60 years of sound expertise combined with innovative thinking and user feedback, the company continues to deliver for live sound.

The Dark family of microphone interfaces is well established in staging, live sound and broadcast, providing a simple, convenient and reliable way to bring in sources and add them to a Dante network. Compact and powered by PoE, the boxes offer phantom power for condenser microphones and redundant network connections over both fibre and copper.

New at PLASA this year are the Dark2MAI with two inputs and the Dark4MAI with four, sharing the same very high-quality microphone amplifiers as the rest of the range so they can be used for critical inputs or quickly added to the network for a stand-up position.

The Dark22M is a compact two in, two out device, giving even more flexibility when rigging. Still powered from the network, or from a power brick if there is a convenient feed, this gives the engineer the ability to send audio feeds including cues, two-ways and confidence monitors, at full quality, as well as providing the two network inputs.

Latency across the whole Dark range is minimal, allowing engineers to build the network they choose. The Dark22M includes gain controls on the box, and all Dark devices can be controlled over the network, using the free GlenController Windows app or any network device controller using UDP.

USB Interfacing to a PC is also included, allowing the Dark22M to act as a high performance USB/Analogue audio interface and a high performance USB/Dante audio interface.

“These new additions to the Dark product range come from conversations with our users in live events and in broadcast,” said Marc Wilson, managing director of Glensound. “They explain the problems they face day to day, and we help them find ways to solve them, with new designs if necessary.

“The great advantage of a highly focused show like PLASA is that we have time for more of those conversations,” Wilson said. “The people who are doing the job are the best people to guide us on where next, like with our noise cancellation circuits for esports, so crowd sounds don’t get onto team circuits. When we talk to each other, we get to the best results.”

Among the other demonstrations at PLASA will be PBS, Glensound’s revolutionary take on audio for parliaments and legislatures. This is a single system covering both main debating chambers and committee rooms, with flexibility for fixed delegate seating or ad hoc placement. It provides clean audio feeds for broadcast, logging and sound reinforcement, and the same software package embraces other central functionality like voting and delegate management. It is a single source solution to a vastly complex challenge.

Visitors to PLASA can see how Glensound tackles audio challenges from live events to esports, from live broadcast to conference stages. Find the company at stand J4.
